The Madison County Nature Trail is located on Green Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama.[1] It was established by the Madison County Commission in 1975 under the leadership of County Commission Chairman James Record who arranged for the land to be donated to Madison County.[2]
The park features a replica historic covered bridge, a 1.5 mile walking trail, chapel, pavilion, picnic area[3], and a handicapped accessible area with a Braille trail.[4] The park is free to the public and open from sunrise to sunset.
Fishing is allowed on Skye Lake for those under 16 and over 60 Monday through Friday while the weekend is reserved for nature lovers. The cost is $1.50 to fish.
Travel south on Memorial Parkway to Weatherly Road East. Turn right on Bailey Cove Road and then left when you come to Green Mountain Road. Turn right at the fork on South Shawdee Road, and the park will be on your right after a few miles.[5]
